Rose Elizabeth "Sally" Mills

Monroe, NC

          Mrs. Rose Elizabeth “Sally” Mills, age 86, entered into rest on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at her home. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Monday, February 27, 2023 at Bright Spot Baptist Church by Pastor Bobby Helms with burial to follow in the Lighthouse Baptist Church Cemetery of Pageland, SC. The family will greet friends from 2:00 – 3:00 PM Monday prior to the service at the church.

          Mrs. Mills was born January 11, 1937 in Peoria, IL a daughter of the late Samuel Joseph Sickles, Jr. and Leona Pearl McQuillen Sickles. She was a retired employee of Taco Bell with over 20 years of service and a member of Bright Spot Baptist Church. Sally enjoyed working with and painting ceramics, but most of all being “grandma” to all her babies.

          In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mills was also preceded in death by her son, Robert Alan Wood; brothers-in-law, Ernie Hatten, Aaron Martin; sister, Beverly Jean Martin; and granddaughter, Angela Dawn Towery.

          Survivors include her husband, Woodrow Mills of the home; children, Deborah Sue McQuillen of Peoria, IL, Carol Ann Towery of Pekin, IL, Roberta (Jay) Preston of Jamesville, WI, Katherine Elizabeth (Keven) Sheets of Newberry, SC, and Sherry Kay (Thomas) Mills of Pageland, SC; step-children, Cindy (Rev. Bobby) Cato of Pageland, SC, Robbie Mills of Gaffney, SC, Tommy (Sherry) Mills of Pageland, SC, and Timmy (Beth) Mills of Gaffney, SC; numerous grandchildren; great grandchildren; step grandchildren; and step great grandchildren; brother, Samuel Joseph Sickles, Jr. of Peoria, IL; sisters, Donna Jean Hatten, and Rosa Lee (Leland) Hatten both of East Peoria, IL; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.
