Ruth Curtis Parker

Chesterfield, SC

Mrs. Ruth Curtis Parker, age 76, entered into rest on Friday, September 13, 2024 at her home. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday, September 16, 2024 at Pine Grove Baptist Church by Pastor Mark Phillips with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM Monday, prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. Parker was born August 15, 1948 in Chesterfield, SC a daughter of the late William Isom and Beulah Moore Curtis. She was a retired employee of Wal-Mart with over 30 years of service. Ruth was a faithful member of Pine Grove Baptist Church where she served on the bereavement committee and was active in the WMU for many years. A lady who loved spending time with her family, she enjoyed traveling, spending time at Lake Tillery and the beach, but most of all cherished time spent with her grandson.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Parker was also preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Olin D. Parker; and brother-in-law, Bill Parker.

Survivors include her daughter, Tina Parker (Jay) Saffel of Chesterfield, SC; grandson, Curtis (Sherry) Boatwright of Cheraw, SC; sister, Ann McDonald of Mullins, SC; sister-in-law, Bonnie Parker of Hartsville, SC; sisters of the heart, Sue (Gerald) Jordan of Mt. Croghan, SC, and Anita Hunter of Chesterfield, SC; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.
