HISTORY: Mrs. Eddins was born January 15, 1926, in Bennettsville, SC, a daughter of the late Ira and Eva Howell McLain. She was a graduate of Bennettsville High School. Mrs. Eddins was a retired Floral Designer and owner and operator of Chesterfield Floral and Gift Shop. She was a mentor to many floral designers through the years. Mrs. Eddins was a member of the Greater Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce, and was the recipient of the Katherine G. Hurst Business Woman of the Year in 2003. She was a faithful member of Chesterfield Baptist Church, where she served as teacher in the children's department for 35 years, and was a member of the Elizabeth M. Rivers Sunday school class. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her son, Jay Eddins; two brothers, Luke and Allen McLain; and by two sisters, Mary Lee and Martha Barnard.

4 Grandchildren: Crista (Jackson) King, Jackson (Jennifer) Eddins, Bryan (Ashley) Eddins, and Evan Adams all of Chesterfield, SC
2 Great Grandchildren: Ella King and Kylee Eddins of Chesterfield, SC
3 Sisters: Lillian Hoffman of Minneapolis, MN, Patricia Deese of Rockingham, NC, and Iris Neal of Georgetown, SC
