VISITATION: 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Bethel Baptist Church

HISTORY: Mrs. Melton was born October 7, 1937 in Ruby, SC, a daughter of the late Willie Lee and Martha Ruth Lear. Ruth was raised by her grandparents, Henry "Bud" and Mary "Trud" Lear. She was a retired employee of Caro Knit, and a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church. Ruth truly loved her church and church family. She enjoyed gardening, growing pretty flowers, cooking, and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, Ruth was also preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Bobby Carroll "Collie" Melton; a brother, Roy Lear; two sisters, Cleo Crowley (Rev. Archie) Heustess, and Juanita (Calvin) Hinson; brothers-in-law, Johnny Reece Melton, Maxie (Jessie Mae) Melton, Floyd (Jamie) Melton and George Belk; and sisters-in-law, Rosie (Conley) Eubanks, Azilee (Edward) Taylor, Lucille Rollins, and Ruth (Roscoe) Boone.

1 Daughter: Dr. Rita A. Melton of Lexington, SC
Nieces and Nephews including special niece, Betty Lear Grady of Ruby, SC
2 Sisters-in-law: Peggy Melton of Jefferson, SC, and Gertrude Belk of Kannapolis, NC
1 Brother-in-law: Hubert Rollins of Myrtle Beach, SC
