Ruth Teal Rivers Clark

Mrs. Ruth Teal Rivers Clark, age 99, entered into rest on Monday, November 11, 2019. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, November 14, 2019 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Brent Taylor with burial to follow in the Brock’s Mill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM Thursday prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Clark was born July 20, 1920 in Chesterfield, SC a daughter of the late Earl Eugene and Sarah Ann Brock Teal. She was a retired employee of INA Bearing and a former employee of Sacony Manufacturing. Mrs. Clark was the oldest member of Brock’s Mill Baptist Church, and was a former Sunday school teacher, choir member, and W.M.U. leader. Mrs. Ruth was a wonderful cook and was known for her chocolate layered cakes. In her later years she enjoyed working puzzles and playing board games.

The last surviving member of her immediate family, Mrs. Ruth was preceded in death by her husbands, W. Wilson Rivers, and Charlie M. Clark; 3 sons, Ralph Rivers, Harvey Rivers, and Larry Rivers; her 4 brothers and 3 sisters.

Survivors include her daughters, Thalia R. Hancock of Mt. Croghan, SC, and Emily (Raymond) Branham of Cheraw, SC; daughter-in-law, Martha Rivers of Florence, SC; 15 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren, great – great grandchildren, nephews, nieces including special niece, Sandra Jordan; and dear friend, Mary Rhynes.
