HISTORY: Mr. Jones was born March 27, 1928 in Chesterfield, SC a son of the late Paul Cornelius and Nezzie Boatwright Jones. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict, and a member of the SC Army National Guard. Mr. Jones was a member of Lower Macedonia Baptist Church, and the American Legion Post 73. He was the owner and operator of Sam Jones Grocery for over 50 years. He was known as a pillar of the community, and was always willing to help his friends and neighbors. In addition to his parents, Sam was also preceded in death by his first wife, Annie Marcille Jones; an infant son; 2 sisters, Esther Jones Davis and Ruth Jones Rivers; and 2 brothers, Lloyd Jones and William Jones.

2 Daughters: Corinthea (Bob) Prewitt of Greenville, SC and Vivian (Mike) Golwitzer of Holly, MI
Grandchildren: Anna (Mentus) Okoro of Gwangju, S. Korea, Melissa (Brad) Dover of Seneca, SC, Michael Golwitzer of Louisville, KY, Carrie Rhyne, and Kelley (William Custer) Jones both of Chesterfield, SC

1 Sister: Mary Margaret Hess of Charlotte, NC
1 Brother: Henley (Margaret Helen) Jones of Cheraw, SC
