Mrs. Sandra “Sandi” Valverde McBride, age 76, entered into rest on Sunday, December 1, 2024. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 4, 2024 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Douglas Mill Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM Wednesday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
Born on January 7, 1948, in Newport News, Virginia, Sandi was the daughter of the late Dr. Michael A. Valverde and Grace DeFeris Valverde. After her husband retired from the military, Sandi dedicated her career to serving the Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Department, where she worked in both Dispatch and the Detention Center. She was an active member of the Douglas Mill Baptist Church.
Sandi enjoyed gardening and had a keen interest in crime shows and the television series "Cops." Above all, she cherished her family and played an important role in maintaining connections among her loved ones.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. McBride was also preceded in death by her brother, Mark Valverde.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Milton “Mac” Wallace McBride, Sr. of the home; children, Milton Wallace (Sara) McBride, Jr. of Columbia, SC, and Michael Arias (Anna) McBride of Irmo, SC; grandchildren, Arianna McBride, and Edgar McBride; great grandchild, Estella Marinez – Reyes; siblings, Nicole (Kevin) Hayes of Lake View, SC, Michael Douglas (Lisa) Valverde of Seven Lakes, NC, Toni (Tim) Bush of Columbia, SC, and Holly Angell of Mocksville, NC; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews, and long-time friend, Maureen Lear of AL.
