Mrs. Sara Louise Quick McLendon, age 90, entered into rest on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at her home. Graveside services will be 1:00 PM Friday, February 11, 2022 at Sunset Memorial Park in Bennetsville, SC. The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the graveside.
Due to COVID-19 regulations, our staff is committed to taking care of our guests and families that we serve. We also ask all guests and family members attending visitations and services to please continue social distancing and if desired to bring and wear a mask.
Mrs. McLendon was born April 21, 1931 in Marlboro County, SC a daughter of the late Sam and Beatrice Coat Quick Radford. Mrs. McLendon worked for many years at Marley Mills and also as a home health nurse. After retirement Sara enjoyed working in her yard, traveling, and caring for her dog, Rusty, who she loved like family.
In addition to her parents, Sara was also preceded in death by her sons Tony Lee, Larry Jennings McLendon; brothers, Henry Lee Quick, Jr, George Alexander Quick, Billy K. Quick, Henry Kenneth Quick, Tillman Radford; sisters, Clara Quick Southerland, and Elizabeth Radford Thompson.
Survivors include her daughter, Cathy Adams of Cheraw, SC; grandchildren, Bart (Suzanne) McLendon of Aiken, SC, Lynn (Phillip) Adams Crolly of Lugoff, SC, Hunter McLendon of Charleston, SC; great-grandchildren, Braden McLendon of Aiken, SC, Cassidy Crolly of Florida; brother, Willard (Sue) Quick of Bennetsvile, SC; sisters, Mary Elizabeth Quick (Dan) Watts of Columbia, SC, Doris Radford Harris of Virginia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials can be made to the cancer foundation of one’s choice.
Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home of Chesterfield, SC ( www.mrcfuneralhome.com ) is serving the McLendon family.
