Sharon Edith Brown, 74, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2024, in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Sharon was born on June 15th, 1949, in Cheraw, South Carolina to the late Henry and Gladys Adams. She met her sweetheart, Richard Brown, while he was serving in the United States Marine Corps, and they married in 1968.

Sharon was a loving wife and mother, raising two children and working while Richard was deployed to various locations with the Marine Corps. Sharon was an excellent cook and made family a priority. She treasured her children and grandchildren, encouraging them in their various activities and rejoicing in their achievements. She was dearly loved by both her 2- and 4-legged family members.

She had a heart for giving back to the community as demonstrated by her many volunteer activities. She was an Inaugural Hall of Fame Member and devoted volunteer for the Tidewater Striders Running Club; Lifetime Member of the Davis Corner Rescue Squad where she was a certified EMT and a Member of the Davis Corner Rescue Squad Foundation; and she provided Crisis Incident Stress Management to First Responders. Sharon was a Disaster Medical Assistance Team member in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina and a CPR instructor for the American Red Cross.

Her memory will be cherished by her husband of 55 years, Richard P. Brown, 2 children – Donald Brown (Kim), and Susan Brown-Clukey (Danny), 5 grandchildren (William, Joseph, Gabriella, Caleb, and Grace), brothers (Fred, Henry, and Ronnie Adams), and many nieces and nephews.
