FUNERAL SERVICE: 2:00 PM Friday, August 1, 2014 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel
INTERMENT: will follow in the Chesterfield Cemetery
VISITATION: 1:00 - 2:00 PM Friday, August 1, 2014 prior to the service at the Funeral Home.
HISTORY: Sherry was born March 21, 1951 in Wadesboro, NC, the daughter of the late William Jackson Hammond, Sr. and Lina Mildred Bacot Hammond. She was a 1969 graduate of Chesterfield High School and a 1973 graduate of Winthrop University, where she was a graduate assistant and taught freshman history. She taught special education at Chesterfield High School and had a long career with the SC Department of Social Services, working with Child Protective Services and Adult Services. She was a licensed SC Social Worker and retired in 2003.Sherry was a lifelong member of Chesterfield Baptist Church.
Sherry was an avid sports fan, and especially liked the South Carolina Gamecocks and the Chesterfield High School Rams. She enjoyed golf and fishing. Sherry loved both reading and music, and had an extensive collection of books, albums, and CDs. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her great friends.

Great Nephews: James Gulledge and Kolin Campbell
Great Nieces: Allie Vaughn and Mary Catherine Hammond
