Shelby Jean Allen Johnson, 82, of Hamlet, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2025 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Richmond.
She was born January 3, 1943, in Anson County, daughter of the late William Henry Allen and Mary Belle Hunter Allen.
Shelby was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Rockingham. Being the classy lady that she was, Shelby was always well-dressed with style and her hair always pristine. She loved clothes and shoes, with her favorite color being black. Some of her favorite past times included shopping, cleaning her house, being in her yard and tending to her flowers, and going on cruises.
Shelby had a pleasant personality and loved to laugh. Family was her greatest joy and she loved being with them. She will be missed as a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant son, Charles Randall Finch.
Left to cherish Shelby’s memories are her husband, Clinton Ray Johnson of the home; daughter, Janice Finch Fry (Jack) of Greenville, SC; stepsons, Steven R. Johnson of Rockingham and James C. Johnson of Wilmington; brother, Michael Allen (Cathy) of Hamlet; twin sister, Doris Lisenby (Mitchell) of Chesterfield, SC; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be Sunday, April 13, 2025 at 2:00pm in the chapel of Harrington Funeral Home, Hamlet, with the Rev. Dean Dixon officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
At other times, the family will receive friends at the home, Hylan Avenue, Hamlet.
