Mrs. Shelby Rollings Gainey, age 84, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, February 15, 2022. A graveside service will be held at11:00 AM Friday, February 18, 2022 at Greenlawn Memorial Park by Reverend William Alford. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside.

Mrs. Gainey was born October 21, 1937 in Pageland, SC a daughter of the late James and Mary Price Rollings. Mrs. Gainey was a member of Pageland First Baptist Church. She was a homemaker who liked to cook, crochet, and care for her family. Shelby enjoyed the simple pleasures in life; being outdoors, Hershey’s kisses, or a good Alan Jackson song. Whether it was road trips, a fish fry, or playing Pollyanna (of which she was the champion), Shelby cherished time spent with family. Mrs. Gainey also loved the family dog, Blossom; and above all else, her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gainey was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Junior Gainey; siblings, James Rollings, Imogene Carpenter, Billy Rollings, Johnnie Rollings, Charles Rollings, and Tish Rollins.

Survivors include her children, Cynthia (Charles) Fender of Pageland, SC; Thomas Gainey of Pageland, SC; Sandra (John) Moose of Ruby, SC; and Troy Gainey of Charlotte, NC. 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; siblings, Clara (Boyd) Hayes of Pageland, SC; Kay Anderson of Pageland, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
