Mrs. Shirley J. Steen, age 68, entered into rest on Thursday, February 9, 2017. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, February 12, 2017 at Wallace Baptist Church by Pastor John L. Melton, III with burial to follow in the Steen Family Cemetery, Bennettsville, SC. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 PM Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Wallace Baptist Church.

Mrs. Steen was born September 23, 1948 in Cheraw, SC a daughter of the late Oscar and Clarine Kissiah Johnson. She was a retired employee of Weller Industries with nearly 30 years of service and a faithful member of Wallace Baptist Church, where she was a former choir member and always helped out in the kitchen. She loved her Lord, her church, her family, and especially time spent with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was also preceded in death by her brother, Raymond “Red” Johnson and sister-in-law, Celia Johnson.

Survivors include her husband, Jeff Steen of the home; 2 sons, Buddy (Amber) Steen of Cheraw, SC and Shane (Kiera) Steen of Wallace, SC; 4 grandchildren, Bradley Steen, Alexandra Steen, Brayden Steen, and Kieran Steen; 3 brothers, Olin Johnson of Cheraw, SC, Danny (Shirley) Johnson of Conway, SC, and Jimmy (Laura) Johnson of Wallace, SC; 2 sisters, Evelyn (Lee) Fulton of Chesterfield, SC, and Alice (Larry) Kuhns of Darlington, SC; also numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Wallace Baptist Church, P.O. Box 4174, Wallace, SC 29596.
