Mrs. Shirley Morris Smith, age 84, entered into rest on Sunday, January 16, 2022. Graveside services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Friendship United Methodist Church by Rev. Charles Teal. The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery. Friends may stop by the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:30AM-12:00PM to view, sign the register book, and pay their respects.

Mrs. Smith was born October 22, 1937 in Chesterfield, SC a daughter of the late Fletcher Eugene and Edna Vaughn Morris. Shirley was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher and sang in the choir. She loved her church dearly. Shirley’s favorite thing to do was to work in her flowers.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith was also preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Smith, brothers; Gilbert L. Morris and Pleasant F. Morris; and sister, Nina Morris Rivers.

Survivors include her daughters; Rhonda Smith McLain of Chesterfield, SC and Elaine Smith-Shuford (Billy) of Bennettsville, SC; grandchildren; Meagan McLain (Joshua) Pitchford of Clover, SC; Step-grandchildren, Jeremy (Jessica) Shuford of Florence, SC, Patrick Shuford of Richmond, VA; great-grandchildren, David Bryce Parker, Justice Pitchford, Joselyn Pitchford, and Charlotte Shuford; brother, William Perry "Tee" Morris of Chesterfield, SC; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Friendship United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 62, Chesterfield, SC 29709.
