GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 3:00 PM, Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at Chesterfield Cemetery
HISTORY: Mr. Ratliff was born December 8, 1919 in Mt. Croghan, SC a son of the late James Hamer and Ruth Baker Ratliff. He was a 1937 graduate of Chesterfield High School. Stanley was former owner and operator of the Radio and TV Center. He retired as Director of Maintenance with Chesterfield County Memorial Hospital and Chesterfield General Hospital with 25 years of service. Mr. Ratliff was a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during WWII and served in Australia and New Guinea as an Air Force Warehouse Superintendent. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Medal, and the Asiatic Pacific Theater Medal with Bronze Star. Stanley was a member of the Chesterfield American Legion Post 74 and Chesterfield Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed riding and looking at wildlife. In addition to his parents, Stanley was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Leaird Ratliff; two brothers, Wilson B. Ratliff, and James H. Ratliff, Jr.; three sisters, Dorothy Ratliff, Mary Ruth Ratliff, and Gloria R. Vernon; and a niece, Alice Ratliff Lloyd.
