Mrs. Susie Moore Jenkins Rodgers, age 81, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 9, 2021 at her home with her family by her side. A Going Home Celebration will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, August 14, 2021 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Pastor Michael Davis, Rev. Ricky “Sweet” Jenkins, and Brent Taylor with burial to follow in the Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Friday, August 13, 2021 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home. The funeral service will be streamed live on the Miller Rivers Caulder Funeral Home Facebook page.

Mrs. Rodgers was born August 2, 1940 in Chesterfield County, SC a daughter of the late Henry and Myrtle Lear Moore. She was a former employee of Chesterfield Manufacturing and retired from Chesterfield General Hospital as a C.N.A. A faithful member of Chesterfield Church of God, Sister Susie served as former treasurer, secretary, ladies ministry clerk, and taught Sunday school for over 45 years.
Mrs. Rodgers was a “Mom” and faithful friend to the entire community and everyone she met was treated like family. She enjoyed shopping at her favorite stores, Hamrick’s, Dollar Tree, and Roses. She was a wonderful cook and was known for her homemade biscuits especially. Sister Susie was a faithful prayer warrior, and no matter the circumstance, she always looked for the best in everyone.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Rodgers was also preceded in death by 2 husbands, Lonnie F. Jenkins, and Charles W. Rodgers; brothers, Doug, Ray, Ellis, and William Moore; and sister, Mary Hartley.
Survivors include her children, Margie (Michael) Black, Fred (Faye) Jenkins both of Mt. Croghan, SC, Rev. Ricky “Sweet” (Joyce) Jenkins of Ruby, SC, and Randy (Amy) Jenkins of Cheraw, SC; grandchildren, David Christopher “Chris” Black of Mt. Croghan, SC, Elizabeth (Markus) Wingate of Pageland, SC, Stacy (B.J.) Jackson of Ruby, SC, Kimmie (David) Meade of Pageland, SC, and Alicia (Jason) Curtis of Cheraw, SC; 8 great-grandchildren; sisters, Rachael (Homer) Hodge of Ruby, SC, Jennie (Carol) Melton of Ruby, SC, Debbie (Zeyad) Mona of Weddington, NC, and Betty Jo (John) Eubanks of Pageland, SC; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends of the family, May Joines, and Pat Langley.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Crescent Hospice for the love and care shown to Mrs. Rodgers and their family during this time.
