Mrs. Sylvia Deese Winstead, age 73, entered into rest on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at her home. Graveside Services will be 4:00 PM Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery by Brent Taylor. The family will greet friends from 3:30 – 4:00 PM Tuesday prior to the service at the cemetery and other times at the home of Candy & Jamie Gooden.

Mrs. Winstead was born March 23, 1945 in Chesterfield County, SC a daughter of the late M.C. and Iris James Deese. She was a former employee of Bo-Buck Mills and a loving homemaker. Sylvia was an avid reader and enjoyed watching television. Her family was of utmost importance and her grandchildren were always the center of her world.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Winstead was also preceded in death by her husband, Millard Eugene “Gene” Winstead; daughter-in-law, Tami Ferguson Winstead; and 9 siblings.

Survivors include her 3 children, Timothy “Tim” Eugene (Emily) Winstead of Cheraw, SC, Candy Lynn (Jammy) Gooden of Patrick, SC, and Millard Jeffery “Jeff” Winstead of Chesterfield, SC; grandchildren, Jeremy (Mindy) Stanley, Chance Timothy (Crystal) Winstead, Chase Timothy (Brittany) Winstead, Chad Reginald Butler, Logan Faye Gooden, Tiffany Lynn (Andrew) Martin, and Joshua Lee Winstead; 7 great grandchildren; sister, Dot (Tommy) Jordan of Chesterfield, SC; also numerous nieces and nephews.
