Tammus Edward "Tommy" Smith

Mr. Tammus Edward “Tommy” Smith, age 70, entered into rest on Sunday, November 26, 2017 at his home. Graveside Services will be 4:00 PM Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Lower Macedonia Memorial Gardens by Brent Taylor. The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.

Mr. Smith was born July 20, 1947 in Hamlet, NC a son of the late William and Sadie Lee Ranson Smith. He was a retired employee of S.C. Department of Transportation and a member of Lower Macedonia Baptist Church. Tommy was a true friend and neighbor always willing to help anyone. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and his specialty was cooking pork skins.

In addition to his parents, Tommy was also preceded in death by his sister, Frances S. Vaughn.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Mary Ussery Smith of the home; children, Tammus Smith, Jr., David Smith, Stephen Smith, Samuel Smith, Dorothy Smith Hulon, Ruth Elizabeth Smith Gardner, Tonya Ann Dixon of Patrick, SC and Leigh Michelle (Ray) Taylor of Peachland, NC; grandchildren, Michael, Timothy, Anthony, Elizabeth, Kelly, Tanner, Summer, Josh, Sheila, Makayla, and Kayleene; sister, Juanita Wright of Peachland, NC; niece, Sandy Evans; and nephew, Danny Wright.
