Thelma Tipton Presnell

Cheraw, SC

Mrs. Thelma Tipton Presnell, age 74, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 31, 2021. The Homegoing Celebration will be 4:00 PM Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at Forest Pine Church by Pastor Danny Malloy and Rev. Ricky Malloy with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends from 3:00 – 4:00 PM Wednesday, prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. Presnell was born February 9, 1947 in Gate City, VA a daughter of the late William Wrightly “W.W.” and Dora Sanders Tipton. She was a former employee of Stanton Quilting with over 20 years of service and a faithful member of Forest Pine Church. Mrs. Thelma was a dedicated Pastor’s wife to her late husband, Reverend Joe Presnell, and they enjoyed serving the Lord together. She also enjoyed gardening, attending singings, and worshipping at church every time the doors were open. A lady who loved her family deeply, she was a true matriarch and prayer warrior for all her family.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Presnell was also preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Joe M. Presnell; step-children, Glenn Presnell, Thomas Presnell, and Faye Hall; siblings, Maggie, Hazel, Faye, Sue, Dorothy, Ray, Dee, and Howard.

Survivors include her children and step-children, Amy Presnell of Cheraw, SC, Bobby (Kimberly) Presnell of Wallace, SC, Joseph (Chris) Presnell, Jr. of Detroit, MI, Michael (Abbie) Presnell, David (Linda) Presnell, Kay Presnell, and Sarah (David) Underwood of Cheraw, SC; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren; siblings, Oakie Ramey of Gate City, VA, Paul Tipton of Cheraw, SC, and Joe (Geneva) Tipton of Gate City, VA; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to a Hospice organization of one’s choice.
