Mr. Knight was born on March 24, 1949 in Cheraw, SC, a son of the late Margaret Louise Knight. A proud U.S. Army Veteran having served as a Green Beret and also in the 82nd Airborne Division. He was a recipient of the Soldier’s Medal. Later Tommie graduated from Northeastern Technical College with two Associate’s Degree’s. A beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Mr. Knight loved his family, especially his great-grandchildren, whom he had a special bond with. Tommie was a bargain hunter by nature, he knew exactly where to find the best daily deals and discounts. Whether catching up about a football game, attempting to find a personal connection with everyone he met, or maybe just small talk,  Mr. Knight was a people person!

In addition to his mother, Mr. Knight was preceded in death by his sister, Gail Goodale.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Shaw Knight of the home; son, Tommy (Wendy) Knight of Bethune, SC; grandsons, Trent (Sarah) Knight of Chesterfield, SC; Brandon Oliver of Gastonia, NC; great-grandsons, Brewer, Gray and Brooks, and his four legged companion, "Mak".
