Mrs. Tona Maner Carnes, age 68, entered into rest on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at her home. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Friday, December 2, 2016 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Tim Moore, Rev. Robin Hewitt, and Chaplain Samantha Dowdy with burial to follow in the Mt. Croghan Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home and other times at the home of Richard and Cathy Carnes.

Mrs. Carnes was born April 22, 1948 in Mt. Croghan, SC a daughter of the late Benton “Pig” and Sadie Watts Maner. She was a former Liberty Life Insurance Agent and retired from Monroe Hardware as an order sales representative with 17 years of service. Mrs. Carnes was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church. She enjoyed fishing, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Tona was also preceded in death by 3 brothers, Roy, Carson, and Henry Maner; 1 sister, Arlene Courtney; 1 son-in-law, Steve Hinson; 1 great granddaughter, Elaina Carnes; and 1 grandson-in-law, Everett Demby, II.

Survivors include her son, Richard (Cathy) Carnes of Chesterfield, SC; 2 daughters, Lisa (Jeff) Hinson of Pageland, SC and Tammy (Terry) Williams of Ruby, SC; grandchildren, Lee (Meredith) Carnes, Krista (Wade) Lambert both of Chesterfield, SC, Doug (Aieral) Hinson of Pageland, SC, Jennifer (Jason) Cowick of Stallings, NC, Richard “P-Nut” Hinson of Pageland, SC, Cole Webster, Hunter Williams, and Christian “Stump” Williams all of Ruby, SC; 6 great grandchildren, Devin, Hazee, Sawyer, Ryan, Matthew, and Taylor; brother-in-law, Dwight Courtney of Pageland, SC; sister-in-law, Meriel Gordon of Chesterfield, SC; numerous nieces and nephews, and her adopted family of the heart, Shannon Griffin, Renee Hancock and son, Hayden, and Caitlyn Blalock.

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to caregivers, Penny Blalock, Norma Jean Austin, and the entire staff of Hospice of Chesterfield County for the love and care shown to Mrs. Carnes.
