DECEASED: Mr. Tony Brown Miller, age 71, died Thursday, December 17, 2009 at his home.

FUNERAL SERVICE: 3:00 PM, Sunday, December 20, 2009 at Zoar United Methodist Church, 2842 Zoar Road, Cheraw, SC

INTERMENT: to follow in the Church Cemetery
VISITATION: 4:00 - 6:00 PM, Saturday, December 19, 2009, at the Funeral Home.

HISTORY: Mr. Miller was born May 27, 1938, in Chesterfield, SC, a son of the late Tom B. and Ruth Brown Miller. He was a graduate of Chesterfield High School Class of 1956. Tony served 6 months of active duty in the U. S. Army, stationed at Fort Jackson, SC. He then spent 5 1/2 years in the Army Reserves, after which he was honorably discharged. Tony graduated in 1961 from Wofford College, Phi Beta Kappa and 6th in his class. He worked as an insurance adjuster with Crawford and Company from 1961 until 1968. In 1968, he began a career with Farm Bureau Insurance as an adjuster until 1977. Tony was the first Senior Adjuster and from 1971 until 1977 trained all new Farm Bureau Adjusters. Mr. Miller worked as an agency manager with Farm Bureau Insurance in Chesterfield County from July 1, 1977 until his retirement on December 31, 1999. Tony set many milestones with Farm Bureau through out South Carolina with his underwriting profitability,and was a mentor to many. He was a member and past president of Green River Country Club and also served for a number of years as a member of the Board of Directors. Tony was a former member of the Board of Directors of the Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce and was a member of Zoar United Methodist Church.

SURVIVORS: Wife: Crystal Campbell Miller of the home.
2 SONS: Mark Anthony Miller and his wife Nancy of Pasadena, CA. and John Howard Douglas and his wife Natalie of Chesterfield, SC.
4 GRANDCHILDREN: Jimmy and Jessie Miller of Pasadena, CA. and Campbell and Will Douglas of Chesterfield, SC
1 BROTHER: Alvin Miller and wife Gail of Columbia, SC
2 NEPHEWS: Erik Miller and wife Anna of Chapin, SC and Brian Miller and wife Natasha of Lexington, SC
FATHER-IN-LAW: Howard B. Campbell of Chesterfield, SC
