Tony Wayne Brown

Mr. Tony Wayne Brown, age 76, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, February 3, 2024. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at Pine Grove Baptist Church by Pastor Mark Phillips and Reverend David Lee. The burial will follow with Masonic Rites in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM Wednesday, prior to the service in the sanctuary of the church.

Mr. Brown was born February 18, 1947 in Rockingham, NC a son of the late William “Willie” Charlie and Bertha Odom Brown. He attended Chesterfield High School and was a retired mechanic from Chesterfield Manufacturing. Tony was a member and former Deacon of Pine Grove Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Chesterfield Masonic Lodge #220 and was a Shriner with the Omar Shrine Temple. Tony enjoyed fishing, working on race cars, and drag-racing. A man who never met a stranger, he will be fondly remembered for his extraordinary wit and outgoing personality.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Brown was also preceded in death by an infant son, Rodney Wayne Brown; infant siblings, Grace Brown, and Billy Brown; and siblings, Charles Brown, Leona Ferguson, Ila Hines, Lorene Watson, Iva Brock, Betty Caulder, and Cammie Chinery.

Survivors include his devoted wife of 58 years, Bonnie Jean Adams Brown of the home; children, Gina B. (Tony “Slim”) Wilkerson; and Kevin Wayne Brown both of Chesterfield, SC; grandchildren, Kaleb Brown, Jake Brown, Trevor Wilkerson (Taylor), and Reagan Wilkerson; great grandchildren, Marissa Brown, and Gunner Wilkerson; brother, Bobby R. (Jan) Brown of Chesterfield, SC; sister, Trena Curtis of Chesterfield, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
