Tracy Hendrix Deese

Pageland, SC

Mrs. Tracy Hendrix Deese, age 51, entered into rest on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Services will be 3:00 PM Friday, January 25, 2019, at Providence Baptist Church by Dr. Roger Wall with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Thursday, January 24, 2019, at Providence Baptist Church, 232 Providence Church Road, Pageland, SC, 29728, and other times at the home of her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Rick Hendrix.

Mrs. Deese was born August 10, 1967, in Monroe, NC, a daughter of Rick and Bonnie Owens Hendrix. She was a graduate of Central High School and a member of Providence Baptist Church where she taught the G.A.’s. She managed Rick’s Produce for many years and was a dedicated caregiver to her “second mother” and cousin, Miss Shirley Johnson. Tracy also served on the Board of Directors of the Chesterfield County Rural Water Agency for the past four years.

A lady with a strong and enduring faith, Tracy remained strong as a testimony of God’s grace during her illness. Her hobbies included cooking, crafting, searching for deals at thrift stores, and spending time with her family at the campground. She will be fondly remembered as a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, and best friend who was loved and treasured by many.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Randel Lee “Cotton” Deese; loving cousin, Shirley Johnson; and her grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. P.A. Hendrix, and Mr. & Mrs. Robert Owens.

Survivors include her children whom she was very proud of, Toby Deese of Pageland, SC, and Courtney (Greg) Laughlin of Myrtle Beach, SC; special granddaughter, Alia Laughlin; beloved parents, Rick and Bonnie Hendrix; brother, Joey (Pat) Hendrix; mother-in-law, Betty Wilbanks, all of Pageland, SC; and her beloved pet, “Sandi”.

The family would like to thank the staff of Regency SouthernCare Hospice (formerly Hospice of Chesterfield County) for the love and care shown to Tracy and her family during this time.
