FUNERAL SERVICE: 2:00 PM, Sunday, November 16, 2008 at Cross Roads Baptist Church

INTERMENT: to follow in the church cemetery

VISITATION: 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Saturday at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home

HISTORY: Mrs. Gibson was born August 19, 1921 in Mt. Croghan, SC a daughter of the late Bogan Matthew and Grace Hilton Rushing. She was a graduate of Mt. Croghan High School and was a skilled seamstress having retired from Sacony. Mrs. Gibson was a life long faithful member of Cross Roads Baptist Church. Vera was preceded in death by four brothers; Harley, Henry, Dock, and Tom Rushing, and by two sisters; Ethel R. Gulledge and Lucy R. Sellers.

Husband of 69 years: Van Burren "Bill" Gibson of the home
1 Daughter: Linda Gibson Hildreth and husband Ralph of Charlotte, NC
2 Grandchildren: English Perry Griggs and husband Mitch of Davidson, NC, and Bill Perry of Chesterfield, SC
3 Great Grandchildren: Camden and Collin Griggs of Davidson, NC, and Landon Perry of Chesterfield, SC
Sister-in-law: Naomi Gibson Snipes of Kannapolis, NC
Also a number of Nieces and Nephews
