Verna Mae Helscel

Mrs. Verna Mae Helscel, age 58, entered into rest on Saturday, December 21, 2019. Funeral Services will be 4:00 PM Thursday, December 26, 2019 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Rev. William Alford. The family will greet friends from 3:00 - 4:00 PM Thursday, prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Helscel was born January 26, 1961 in Tulsa, OK a daughter of the late Jim and Gertrude Hudson Helscel. She was a loving mother and caregiver for all her family. Prior to moving to SC, Verna worked as nursing aide in different nursing homes in OK. She enjoyed taking care of her family, interior design, and working puzzles.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Helscel was also preceded in death by her husband, Roy Eugene Helscel.

Survivors include her children, Walter Helscel, Jay Helscel, Verna Helscel, and Patricia “Patty” Helscel all of Pageland, SC; 3 grandchildren, Amy, Roy, and Mason Helscel; brothers, Donnie Mayhall of OK, and Allen Gibbs of OH; sisters, Tina Spencer of AL, Barbara Moore and Happy Brown both of OK.

The family appreciates the love and support provided them by Regency SouthernCare Hospice of Chesterfield, SC.
