Ms. Virginia “Jennie” Moore Hill, age 84, died peacefully on Sunday, May 31, 2020 at her home with her daughter by her side. Graveside services will be 5:00 PM Thursday, June 4, 2020 at Ruby Cemetery by Pastor Ronald Thurman and Nathan Gardner. The family appreciates each act of kindness, love, and support shown during this time. They respectfully request no visitors at the home at this time.
Ms. Hill was born August 26, 1935 in Chesterfield, SC a daughter of the late Robert B. and Wincie Sellars Moore. She was a graduate of Ruby High School and a faithful member of Ruby Baptist Church. Jennie loved her Sunday school class, her church family, and her pastor. She worked as a secretary with the Law Office of H.F. Bell and retired from Chesterfield Town Hall. She could find joy and a joke, always, in her 84 years of life.
Retirement did not slow her as she began to travel far to see the familiar sights and sounds of the USA. Later the trials and aches of aging weighed her down. Nevertheless, she persisted to finish her last care giving mission to her sister. She now joins her 7 siblings for a Moore heavenly reunion. Her life was split between her home in Chesterfield and her heart in Ruby Baptist Church. She found a gracious and supportive community in both. If ever a soul was ready to be free of the ills faced, Jennie was. Give thanks for Jennie's life and the love she gave.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Hill was also preceded in death by her son, Dennis Scott Hill; siblings, Robert Barry Moore, R.B. “Shorty” Moore, Charles David “Charlie” Moore, Billy Frank Moore, Annette Moore Abel, Mildred “Pete” Lisenby, and Ruby L. Moore.
