Mrs. Virginia O. “Ginger” Morton, age 71, entered into rest on Thursday, March 11, 2021. Funeral Services will be 3:00 PM Sunday, March 14, 2021 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Pastor Ronnie Poston and Rev. Donald Deal with the eulogy being delivered by her brother, Edward “Ernie” Oliver. The burial will follow in the Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 2:00 – 3:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.

Due to the continued COVID-19 risks, we ask that you practice social distancing at all times and refrain from any physical contact. The family would like for all attending the service to please wear a face covering.

Mrs. Morton was born December 4, 1949 in Chesterfield, SC a daughter of the late Marion and Dottie Ballard Oliver. She was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church and was a loving homemaker. Ginger enjoyed fishing, playing softball, and watching her favorite tv show, Gunsmoke. A devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother, Ginger will be remembered for loving her family deeply.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Morton was also preceded in death by her son, Samuel Scott Morton; and brothers, Tom Oliver, and Phil Oliver.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Samp Morton of the home; daughters, Renee (Tom) Sellers, and Toni (Dana Wallace) Morton both of Chesterfield, SC; grandchildren, Dylan Sellers, Dakota Sellers, Chase Wallace, Celeste Wallace, Alexis Sellers, and Aaliyah Sellers; granddaughter of the heart, Haven Owens; brothers, Edward “Ernie” (Karen) Oliver of Lexington, SC, and Jay (Judy) Oliver of Camden, SC; sisters, Ann (Roby) Moore of Ruby, SC, and Bunk (Russell) Lindsey of Chesterfield, SC; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins including special cousin and close friend, Donna Carol Moore.
