Ruby, SC Mr. William Thomas “W.T.” Rushing, age 74, entered into rest on Friday, August 19, 2016 at his home. Funeral services with Masonic Rites will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, August 21, 2016 at the Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Ronald Thurman and Phillip Caulder, Jr. Burial will follow in the Ruby Cemetery with Military Honors. The family will receive friends from 1:30 – 3:00 PM Sunday prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Rushing was born August 18, 1942 in Mt. Croghan, SC a son of the late Tom W. Rushing and Ruby Myrtle Horne Rushing Harward. He was a retired employee of Springs Industries and a faithful member of Ruby Baptist Church. W.T. was a member of the Woodmen of the World Lodge # 516 and a retired member of the S.C. National Guard with 23 years of service. He was a member and Past Master of Ruby Masonic Lodge # 314 and also served as treasurer of the lodge for over 30 years. Mr. Rushing loved his grandchildren, and he enjoyed spending time with them. He also enjoyed gardening, traveling, and fishing. Mr. Rushing loved his friends, and he will be remembered for his easy-going spirit.

In addition to his parents, W.T. was also preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Jennifer Huston Rushing.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Sylvia Rushing, of the home; one son, Thomas “Tommy” Edward Rushing of Bennettsville, SC; one daughter, Jean Rushing (Jason) Watson of Chesterfield, SC; one sister, Betty Rushing (Jerry) Gulledge of West Columbia, SC; and four grandchildren, Tiffany Watson, Bryan Watson, David Rushing, and John Rushing.

In lieu of flowers, the family cordially requests memorials be made to the Ruby Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 3, Ruby, SC 29741.
