Mr. Wade Marshall Hurley, age 83, entered into rest on Tuesday, February 8, 2022. Funeral services will be 1:00 O’clock PM, Saturday February 12, 2022 from the chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Rev. Irvin Plowden Jr. with burial to follow at White Oak Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Hurley was born July 22, 1938 in Red Bank, NJ a son of the late Hudson and Gladys Sexton Hurley. Wade was an army veteran and a member of Cornerstone United Methodist Church. Over the years he served on several committees and taught Sunday school at former churches. Wade was an avid Clemson Tigers fan and enjoyed going to football games. He also enjoyed traveling, camping, and fishing. Mr. Hurley was a talented artist and member of the Spartanburg Artist Guild. Above all Wade loved his family and his church, they were his life.
In addition to his parents, Wade was preceded in death by his brother, Phillip Hurley; and step mother, Miriam Rhodes Hurley.
Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Georgia Stogner Hurley of the home; daughter, Kathy Hurley of Rock Hill, SC; and sisters-in-law, Peggy Oliver of Jefferson, SC, Betty Gainey of Darlington, Darlene Stogner of Mt. Croghan, SC, Sue Stogner of Jefferson, SC.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cornerstone United Methodist Church 2697 Heckle Blvd, Rock Hill, SC 29732 or Hospice & Community Care PO Box 993, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
