INTERMENT: will follow at 2:00 PM, Tuesday in the Fort Jackson National Cemetery, Columbia, SC

VISITATION: is 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Monday, January 26, 2015 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home, Chesterfield, SC

HISTORY: Mr. Brooks was born February 6, 1949 in Cheraw, SC a son of Lena Ratliff Brooks and the late Walter L. Brooks, III. He was a 1968 graduate of Chesterfield High School. Mr. Brooks was a graduate of the SC Criminal Justice Academy and the SC Highway Patrol Academy. Mickey began his law enforcement career as an officer with the Chesterfield Police Department and has served as a SC State Trooper since 1973. He was honored as SC Trooper of the Year in 1979. Mickey was a U.S. Marine Veteran and was a retired SC Army National Guard member with 24 years of service, having served during Desert Storm. Mr. Brooks was a member of Chesterfield Baptist Church and North Side Baptist Church in Greenwood, SC.

Mother-in-law: Roma Alexander Stewart of Bishopville, SC
