Mr. William “Cull” Crook, age 87, entered into rest on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at White Oak Manor of Lancaster, SC, under the care of Regency Hospice. Funeral Services will be 3:00 PM Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at Jefferson Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Jefferson Town Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 2:00 – 3:00 PM Wednesday prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Crook was born September 16, 1929 to the late Sam and Inez Plyler Crook. Mr. Crook retired from Dupont, and following his retirement he owned and operated “Crook’s Vacuum Service.” Mr. Crook enjoyed fishing, woodworking, gardening, and camping. He was a faithful member of Jefferson Baptist Church, where he served as Deacon and Teller for many years and also on various other committees throughout the years. Mr. Crook was also a member of the SC Army National Guard.
In addition to his parents, Cull was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Billy and James Crook; and 1 sister, Doris Courtney.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 65 years, Macy Blackburn Crook of White Oak Manor, Lancaster, SC, formerly of Jefferson; brother, Sammy Crook of Lancaster, SC; sister, Lois Miller; numerous nieces and nephews, and his beloved pet “Blackie.”
The family requests in lieu of flowers, that memorial donations be made to a Hospice of one’s choice or to a charity of one’s choice.
