INTERMENT: will follow in the Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery, Ruby, SC

VISITATION: is 7:00 - 9:00 PM, Sunday, July 8, 2012 at the funeral home

HISTORY: Mr. Joplin was born June 21, 1941 in Mt. Croghan, SC a son of the late Johnnie Daniel and Mary Wilkerson Joplin. He was a retired employee of Estes Express Lines with 27 years of service, and a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church, where he served as a former choir member and former deacon. Mr. Joplin was a Life Member of Ruby Masonic Lodge # 314. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and his grandchildren were his heart. He loved his step daughters and son-in-laws. He had a special place in his heart for his dogs, Bo Bo, Austin, and Brownie, and also his cats. He had a great love for God and man, and if anyone ever had a need, Leverne was willing to help. He enjoyed going to the beach and mountains several times a year with his wife Jean. He was a friend to all, and will be greatly missed. In addition to his parents, Leverne was preceded in death by his first wife, Myra Lee "Susie" Brock Joplin; 2 brothers, Lathaniel Wilkerson and James Olin Wilkerson; and by 1 grandson, Johnathan Spencer Joplin.

2 Step Daughters: Susie B. (Chris) McAllister of Chesterfield, SC and Shannon B. (Ramark) Chavis of Cheraw, SC
5 Grandchildren: Zach Chavis, Cody McAllister, Wyatt McAllister, Shannon Rivers, and Ashley Rivers
