DECEASED: Mr. William Flake Stroud, age 95, went home to be with his Lord, February 18, 2011.

FUNERAL SERVICE: 1:00 PM, Sunday, February 20, 2011 at Hopewell Baptist Church

INTERMENT: will follow in the church cemetery

VISITATION: will follow the service at the church

HISTORY: Mr. Stroud was born August 25, 1915 in Anson County, NC a son of the late Clarence Dupree and Annie Privette Stroud. He was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church.
Flake loved farming, gardening, tending to his cows, and most especially his family. In addition to his parents, Mr. Stroud was also preceded in death by a grandchild, Dorothy Virginia Stroud; four brothers, Ernest, Tyler, Harvey, and Floyd Stroud; and by two sisters, Ruth Vaughn and Arie Howlett.

Wife of 73 years: Madge Jeanette Jones Stroud
3 Sons: Dr. Cary Stroud of Greenville, SC, Ken Stroud of Pinehurst, NC, and Joel Stroud of Chesterfield, SC
1 Daughter: Shelby Stroud Ingram of Chapel Hill, NC
Also 6 Grandchildren, 2 Step Grandchildren, 2 Great Grandchildren and 1 Step Great Grandchild
1 Brother: Robert Stroud of Chesterfield, SC
