William "Bill" Thomas Matthews

Mr. William “Bill” Thomas Matthews, age 65, entered into rest on Tuesday, October 6, 2020. The family will hold a private family service at a later date.

Mr. Matthews was born November 14, 1954 in Monterey, TN a son of the late Claude Thomas and Nannie Farley Matthews. He was an OTR truck driver and a Army veteran. Bill enjoyed watching westerns and loved to go fishing. Over the years Bill and his son Daniel traveled to the lower 48 states while driving his truck. He will be remembered as a simple man that would do anything to help anyone that needed help, even if that meant he would have to go without.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Matthews was also preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Jean Helms Matthews and a brother in law, Guy Linginfelter.

Survivors include his children; Daniel (Jennifer) Matthews of Charlotte, NC, Tina (Chris) Honea of Las Vegas, NV, Monica (Ryan) Cagle of Jefferson, SC, Greta (Brian) Richardson of Jefferson, SC and their mother, Linda Matthews of Pageland, SC, Shannon (Crystal) Alexander of Myrtle Beach, SC; grandchildren, Courtney Alexander, Justin Alexander, Skylar Baughn, Sebastian Honea, Andrew Cagle, Aiden Cagle, Anna Cagle, Ava Richardson, Braxton Richardson, Harlow Richardson; great-grandchild, Phoenix Baughn; brother, Larry Matthews; sisters, Rosie Linginfelter, Kathy (Michael) Bentley, Lisa (Jim) Bentley.
