William Steve Odom

Chesterfield, SC

Mr. William “Steve” Odom, age 72, entered into rest on Wednesday, March 13, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. A Service of Celebration will be 5:00 PM Friday, March 15, 2019, from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Pastor Fred McDaniel. The family will greet friends from 4:00 – 5:00 PM Friday, prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Odom was born December 22, 1946, in Chesterfield, SC.  He was the son of the late Mendel Wilson and Ruby Lee Davis Odom.  Mr. Odom attended Shiloh United Methodist Church.  A Navy veteran and charter member of VFW Post 11251, Mr. Odom enjoyed cooking, golfing, fishing, NASCAR, watching the Chesterfield Rams play baseball, and spending time with his family and friends.  He retired from Schaeffler Group “INA” after 41 years of service.  Steve was a true family man, and his greatest joy was his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by a daughter, Amy, two brothers, Tommy and Jimmy Odom, and by his sister, Carolyn Odom.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Joanie Chewning Odom of the home; two daughters, Becky Harvey (Kevin) and Lori Rivers (Timothy) both of Chesterfield, SC; 5 grandchildren, Conner Harvey, Cameron Harvey, Corbin Bray, Emory Rivers, and Emmett Rivers; 1 brother, David Odom (Susan); and his special pet, Max.
