Willis Lumpkin passed away on July 26th, 2023 at the age of 56, after a long battle with illness. The family will announce a Celebration of Life service at a later date. Willis was born on August 12th, 1966 to Fred Lumpkin and Jean Quarles. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Ministry from Atlanta Christian College and a Master’s degree in Special Education from Piedmont University. While he was studying ministry, he met his wife, Robin, at a church camp where they worked together. He served as both a minister and a school teacher. He showed an unwavering love for the Lord, and aimed to share His grace with all he encountered.
Willis is predeceased by his parents, Fred Lumpkin and Jean Quarles, as well as his stepfather, Harvey Brooks, and stepmother, Carol Lumpkin.
He is survived by his wife, Robin, and his three children, Caleb, Emily, and Caroline. Also surviving him are his siblings, Hope (Ivan) Gulledge, Edward Lumpkin, Lorne (Jackie) Brooks, Aeria Lumpkin, Teresa (John) Murray, and Christi Henderson and their children, Stephanie (Will) Ramirez, Junior (Kayce) Lumpkin, Chris (Amber) Lumpkin, Jacob Brooks, Jenna Brooks, Kasara Lumpkin, Amber Murray, Carolanne Murray, Hunter Murray, JC Murray, Ashley Chance, and Bethany Henderson. He is also survived by several grand nephews and nieces as well as extended family.
We pray that death felt like the sun setting over the golf course after a great game. Willis will be missed by many.
