DECEASED: Mrs. Wilma Catherine "Katie" Chavis Gandy, age 86, died Monday, April 13, 2015.

FUNERAL SERVICE: 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Zoar United Methodist Church

INTERMENT: will follow in the Church Cemetery

VISITATION: will be Saturday, April 18, 2015, immediately following the service in the Church Fellowship Hall, Viewing of the remains will be Friday April 17, 2015, 9:00A.M. – 5:00 P.M. at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.

HISTORY: Mrs. Gandy was born March 19, 1929, in Bennettsville, SC, a daughter of the late Walter Bruce Chavis and Elizabeth Grant Chavis. She was a graduate of Bennettsville High School, and a retired administrative assistant with Cooper Industries. Katie was also a former bank teller with Carolina Bank. Mrs. Gandy was a faithful member of Zoar United Methodist Church, where she was a choir member, UMW member, and a Sunday school member. Katie enjoyed growing pretty flowers, gardening, cake decorating, and church activities. In addition to her parents, Katie was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hill Gandy, her brothers, J.W. Chavis and Tommy Chavis, and by a sister, Mildred Chavis Quick.

Daughter: Angela Gandy (Billy) Harpe of Florence, SC
2 Grandchildren: Kathleen Hope "Katie" Gandy of Chapin, SC and John "Taylor" Harpe of Florence, SC
Sister: Louise C. Hunt of Cheraw, SC
