Winnie Lou Broome

Pageland, SC

          Miss Winnie Lou Broome, age 82, entered into rest on Monday, January 16, 2023. Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, January 19, 2023 at Five Forks Cemetery by Taylor Broome and Brent Taylor. The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.

          Miss Broome was born December 28, 1940 in Pageland, SC a daughter of the late Luther and Sarah Jackson Broome. She was a retired employee of Central High School and a former employee of Mickey’s Restaurant with over 18 years of service. Winnie was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church. She enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable gardens, and looking for a deal at the thrift stores. A lady who never met a stranger, Winnie always enjoyed talking and meeting new friends.

          In addition to her parents, Miss Broome was also preceded in death by her brothers, Bill Broome, Lonnie Broome, and Fred “Crappie Man” Broome; sisters, Mary Alice Broome, and Betty Ruth Broome; and niece, Amanda Broome.

          Survivors include her nieces and nephews, Lynn Mullis, Tim (Debbie Rollins) Broome, both of Pageland, SC, and Chris (Kim) Broome of Murrells Inlet, SC, Glenn (Christy) Broome of Lugoff, SC; in addition to numerous great nieces and great nephews.
