W. Richard Gainey

Mr. W. Richard Gainey, age 50, entered into rest on Saturday, March 3, 2018. Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at Calvary Baptist Church by Rev. Jackie Bailey and Rev. Tim Williams with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends from 12:00 – 1:00 PM Tuesday prior to the service in the sanctuary of the church.

Mr. Gainey was born October 3, 1967 in Monroe, NC a son of Wylie and Bonnie Eddins Gainey. He was a former employee of Caro-Knit and Wal-Mart Distribution Center. Richard was also self-employed as a “Jack of all trades”. A member of Calvary Baptist Church, he was a loving father who enjoyed spending time with his children. Richard’s hobbies included fishing, woodworking, and spending time with his friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Curnel and Sarah Eddins, and Jessie and Mattie Gainey.

Survivors include his children, Chance Dalton Gainey, and Brittany Sky Gainey of the home; parents, Wylie and Bonnie Gainey of Jefferson, SC; 2 sisters, Wanda (Ramzy) Seidhom of Jefferson, SC, and Melissa (Chris) Laney of Myrtle Beach, SC; and special friend, Linda Foley of Jefferson.
